jelly will set faster if you melt it with half the amount of boling water and add ice cubes to make up the rest

use an ice cream scoop to take the seeds out of a melon

after you finish using your grilling machine an easy way to clean it is to put two wet sheets of kitchen paper on it and close the lid ..wait a few minutes then wipe off the moisture and its ready for next time

for easy breadcrumbs ....freeze a loaf and grate it on a cheese grater

clean microwaves easier by heating a bowl of water inside for five mins then wipe

whilst cooking if you are forever looking for a towel to wipe your hands on ...sew an old tea towel to your pinny ...then you can just lift up the cloth no matter what you are doing and wipe your hands

to loosen a stubborm cork from a bottle dip a cloth in hot water and wrap it lightly around the neck of the bottle and try it again

when cooking pasta add a few drops of oil to the water to prevent frothing

if you only need a few drops of lemon juice pierce the lemon with a fork and squeeze ...put the fork back in thelemon and store in the fridge

when cooking spaghetti or rice add a touch of salt to the water to prevent it sticking

if you find your hands smell after touching garlic rub them with a piece of raw potato

dont throw away any yorkshire puds left over from the sunday roast ...save them for later as a dessert ..just pour over fresh cream and a little golden syrup

to stop your omelette becoming like scrambled egg cook half on the hob then instead of flipping the omelette cook the top half by placing under the grill (ive always cooked mine like this)
